Building sustainable energy systems and intelligent solutions through engineering and research — from smart grids to machine learning for battery health.

Engineering a cleaner, smarter grid.
Researcher and engineer working at the intersection of power systems, renewable energy and applied machine learning.
I'm an MSc Electrical Power Engineering student at the University of South-Eastern Norway, with a Bachelor's in Electrical & Electronics Engineering from Kathmandu University and an academic exchange at IIT Hyderabad.
My work sits where hardware, software and sustainability meet — from designing solar systems and battery storage in rural Nepal to training ML models for EV battery second-life sorting.

Researcher — Academia Industry Cooperation
- Developed a machine learning model and an experimental setup to sort retired EV batteries at a modular level for a stationary power storage system.
- Contributed to educational upliftment and resource utilization in rural areas of the Kavrepalanchowk district of Nepal through the “Campus to Community” services.
Researcher (Part-time)
- Designed and developed a grid-independent solar power system based on an MPPT charge controller for an algae bioreactor.
Research Intern — Advanced Embedded Systems & IC Design Lab
- Product design and development of a low-cost customised potentiostat to detect heavy metal ions present in water.
- Built companion web and mobile applications using Flutter and Dart.
- Ran LTSpice and MATLAB simulations for the Square Wave Voltammetry technique used to detect heavy metal ions.
Intern
- Researched distribution system loss minimisation and grid automation for fault detection.
- Observed the operation of SCADA systems for real-time monitoring and control of electrical substation equipment.
Projects

Final year thesis at IIT Hyderabad. Built a MATLAB algorithm, mobile app and hardware prototype that uses Square Wave Voltammetry to detect, quantify and identify heavy metal ions such as Zn, Pb, As and Cr in water via signal processing and data analysis.

Low-cost IoT poultry management system that measures and logs temperature, tachometer readings and crate orientation, using Google APIs for cloud dashboards. Worked as product development engineer.

Analysis of a driver's emotion (anger, happiness) and behavior (dizziness, freshness) using machine learning and artificial intelligence to trigger proactive safety alerts.

Meter measures grid voltage and current to calculate energy consumption and power factor, with an LED user interface and cloud connectivity. Includes over-current and over-voltage fault analysis, making it suitable for smart grids and energy management.
